Supporting the scientists of future generations
By joining a smaller company, I was able to gain exposure to many different parts of the business and get involved in a broad range of activities. As well as working in the laboratory, I was helping with grant applications, writing content and implementing social media activities. Of course, the laboratory work was the biggest part of my placement, but it was a great experience getting involved in other elements that opened my eyes to what is really involved in running a successful business.

Shaking up the biochemical industry
Earlier this month I was listed as one of the 30 most talented trendsetters who are tackling the biggest health challenges of our time, in the ninth BioBeat Movers & Shakers in BioBusiness Report for 2021. Our system, that decarbonises biocatalytic processes and replaces toxic metal catalysts, was highlighted as one of the revolutionary bioscience products for healthcare, transforming the production of drugs and speciality chemicals.
Asynt Write-up
Every good start-up relies on high-quality resources, and it can’t be underestimated how first-rate equipment is aiding our research and development at HydRegen. I recently gave insight as to how the Asynt-supplied DrySyn OCTO parallel reactor and the desktop hydrogen generator have helped us expedite the development of our hydrogenation biotechnology.
I foresee the OCTO reactor getting lots of use in the future as we screen new chemical reactions, as well as innovating and developing new product lines. Check out my reasons why it is such a valuable tool for us here at HydRegen:

Meet Jack - our newest team member
We asked Jack to introduce himself and tell you about why he chose to study Chemistry, what brought him to HydRegen and what he’s learnt in his first month.
We love what he wrote and think it will resonate with anyone in their final year at University!
