Chemistry Team: A Year of Innovation and Industrial Progress
As we wrap up another year of groundbreaking research and development, we are thrilled to share the remarkable achievements of our Chemistry Team. This year has been a testament to our commitment to industrial innovation, commercial success, and scientific excellence.
Expanding Our Capabilities
Chemistry R&D Enhancements
We have doubled our fume hood space, and installed a Uniclave Kilo-lab facility, advancing our process capacity, fine-tuning our scale-up strategy, and increasing efficiency.
Database Launch: We have been utilizing our Chemistry Database, which has become an invaluable tool for tracking our progress.
We have produced hundreds of batches of catalyst this year, and run hundreds of R&D-scale reactions.
Record-Breaking Experiment: We achieved a record TTN of 4 million in one experiment.
High Substrate Titres: We are regularly conducting R&D at substrate titres that are industrially relevant.
Customer Projects and Collaborations
Product Sales
Product Deliveries: Successfully sent products to multiple industry leaders and research institutions.
Joint Development
Successful R&D: Completed R&D for several work packages, delivering high-quality chemical products to our customers.
GreenAmine Project with strategic partners at AM Technology
Mesalazine Production: Maximising the productivity and efficiency of Mesalazine production in batch, using our Uniclave reactor.
Technical Visits to AM Technology in order to implement Bio2Amine in different operational setups in continuous flow.
Process Optimization and Green Initiatives
Nitro Reductions: Identified numerous nitro reductions at the marketing phase, selecting the most promising for screening.
Solubility and Conversion: Demonstrated that multiple substrates could dissolve up to ~50 g/L in a generic cosolvent systems. Achieving good conversion rates using Bio2Amine.
External Recognition and Outreach
Publications and Conferences
Research Papers: With our academic colleagues, published significant papers on nitro reductions (Nature Communications, with Prof. Vincent at Oxford) and hydrogenase production scale-up and applications (ChemCatChem, with Dr. Morra at Nottingham).
Conference Participation: Invited to speak at numerous technical conferences and presented posters and flash talks.
Outreach Activities: Hosted students for presentations and lab tours, fostering the next generation of scientists.
Our processes are now industrially viable, and we are committed to delivering sustainable bio-based manufacturing opportunities to the chemicals sector. Our innovations do not require a green premium, thanks to our cost-saving measures. As we look forward to the coming year, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries of chemical research and industrial application. Our team's successes are a testament to our innovative spirit and commitment to excellence. We are excited to continue this journey, driving forward with new projects and collaborations that will shape the future of our industry.
Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your continued support!
